Train delivers snow for Iditarod sled dog race

Most people would likely assume that lack of snow wouldn’t be a problem in Alaska, but in this case they’d be wrong. The Iditarod sled dog race – which began March 5, 2016 – didn’t have enough snow for its ceremonial start before the race began. To help out, his train delivered seven rail cars of the white stuff. Though the gesture was appreciated, the city of Anchorage didn’t end up using the Fairbanks snow as it decided to shorten the course start from 11 miles to three.
